When I observe how much of an impact I’ve had in making our clients succeed and feel happy. One of my greatest achievements has been being able to gain a better understanding of what a young person needs and building my confidence in working with them.

My childhood hero is my uncle Franz who only recently passed away. As I was growing up, he would write to me practising English and I would reply practising my German. My uncle and I loved playing board games which made me feel special. A legacy of this special bond is a closeness with my cousins.

Nelson Mandela is my hero because he engaged in selfless and dedicated acts, by fighting to bring liberty and justice for his people, and risking his life for the equality of all. He also showed that hatred cannot be overcome by hatred but by empathy.
Working with CSA has been such an amazing opportunity for gaining experience and building professional rapport with young people and colleagues. Most importantly what gives me fulfilment in my role is going the extra mile, even if it means going over my shift hours, to ensure my young people are safe and to reassure them I’m working in their best interest and ensuring their welfare.

The opportunity to deliver interventions to young people by being a good role model. One of my greatest achievements was helping a young person go back to school and complete year 6.

Playing soccer, watching movies and swimming.
I am an easygoing, friendly person who enjoys meeting new people. I enjoy sports and spending time with my loved ones. I enjoy getting to know new people and going out of my way to make them feel comfortable. I love what I do, especially the challenges that come with it. Working with CSA has also helped me build my self confidence and develop who I am as a person.

I’m a very creative-orientated guy who enjoys the company of my family and friends. I use photography and videography as an outlet to express my appreciation for the gift of life! I am the person who loves to help others no matter if that is in the scope of my personal or professional life. I love working with people, which is why I started working within the community, almost 15 years ago, as different roles, e.g, teacher, mentor, counsellor, youth development worker, program worker and children and family support worker. In future, I look forward to working in the community sector in a higher position, I wouldn’t want to change my career path as I am very passionate about working within the community and with all the wonderful people who reside here.
My childhood hero was one of the presidents of Pakistan. His name was General Parwaiz Musharraf. He was very brave and always worked for creating equity for the nation and the country. He loved justice and worked a lot for social justice. He was not afraid of raising his voice against violence and injustice.

A time I felt accomplished with CSA was when I created a fitness plan used that was used as an outlet to aid with emotional and mental issues the young person was facing. Each shift I was on with him, I would run him through a program followed by a game of his choice. This aided in curbing his aggressive behaviours towards other clients and staff. And the rapport built with me enabled him to come to me with other issues that previously he wouldn’t have shared with anyone.

Being a Staff Engagement Officer has given me many fulfilment’s. In my role everyday, establishing meaningful relationships with my workers and team is phenomenal! I love to see positive changes by providing them support & guidance through their highs & low’s. My workers journey’s in CSA matter to me, I love to see everyone flourish! My workers are my purpose to become better everyday; “Faith as little as a mustard seed moves mountains”.
I believe I’m a strong and independent individual. I feel as though being in this sector of work makes me relate to a lot of these young peoples needs from my experiences and my certain lived environment. I adore young children and youth as I have the sole passion to want to contribute change within their lives. To help and prepare them socially, mentally, physically and psychologically for their future. I am apart of CSA because they assist and support these young people and it allows me to introduce and put in place positive change and positive influence. I am their role model, and upholding a great and confident persona is of utmost importance the future of our society – children and youth
My mother and father are my childhood and to date still hero’s. They have taught me all my skills and knowledge in life to become the person I am today. Without those two individuals I would not be the strong, independent and confident person I am.
I love spending time with the children and getting to know them individually. My job is rewarding because I feel as though I’m giving back to the community and I feel like I play a pivotal role in the children’s feeling of safety and happiness
I am someone who is genuinely interested in helping other people and making others feel good about themselves. I am very content and I really believe I am going to do great things in the community services sector. I am passionate about young peoples rights, and believe that I can provide a positive space for young people to truly find some happiness. I am hopeful that I will combine my interests of supporting young people, and my love for sport to create an initiative or program that will further help these kids through the use of sport (not 100% what this may look like, but I’m working on it). I am absolutely loving my job, and see myself doing this for a long time 🙂

Being there to listen and care for young people. I love building relationships and trust with these children, and providing them comfort when they are in my care. I love getting to talk to different people every day and watching young people achieve their goals.
I like people, especially children. I am raising three children and I am very grateful for having and raising them. Through children, I learn the depth of life such as a various experience, mistakes, frustrated, good and bad choices. I want to protect the pure children’s hearts so that they do not get hurt. In the future, I hope that these children will be able to grow in a healthier world in the love, comfort, and hope they feel.

I am part of Community Staffing and I am making a positive impact on the young people in our care. This is a big part of who I am. The best job I have ever had really. I’m also a yoga loving Vegan and Animal Advocate, especially for rescue dogs. I enjoy walking my 2 naughty rescues and I also love reading. I sing in a duo and we play in venues around the Peninsula. I like making a difference to the young people in my care. Even if it’s just for a little while, I like to make them feel safe and comfortable enough to chat or even just sit quietly in peace. Often they will share something they are looking forward to or a little bit worried about. I like to uplift them and gently remind them how awesome they are. I love to see them go on with their day with a smile and belief in themselves.

My favourite place so far that I have visited was Japan and hope to one day, live there. I loved Frank & Shirley Gilroy in A Country Practice as they reminded me of my grandparents. They were kind & understanding, non-judgemental & always there to help anyone.
I have only completed 2 shifts so far, but it’s rewarding caring for children that are from dysfunctional homes & need care & guidance. I know we can’t fix them but if we can just plant a seed that offers them some hope then that’s all that matters.

Working with CSA has been such an amazing opportunity to gain experience and building professional rapports with the Young people and even with my colleagues. Most importantly what gives me fulfilment in my role is even going the extra mile even if it’s over my shift hours to ensure my young people are safe and to reassure them I’m there to help them in their best interest and welfare.

You try your best to always be nice and others. You are happy and fulfilled. Although you need to stop being so lazy since lockdown and get off the crouch as you watch way too much TV.
I was obsessed with the TV show Charmed. Besides the fact it was a cool supernatural tv show, it showed much more to that. The show was about family, to be nice and look out for others, that women can lead and that a career and education is important. It made me want to be good and do good.
Everything about the work I do with CSA gives me fulfilment. Even though it can be hard at times, it’s a privilege to be able to support young people and contribute in providing a safe and stable environment to hopefully help empower them to be able to have fulfilment in their lives.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My best friend is my 5 year old Labrador, Arlo. We enjoy camping and walks down by the Murray river.
