When I observe how much of an impact I’ve had in making our clients succeed and feel happy. One of my greatest achievements has been being able to gain a better understanding of what a young person needs and building my confidence in working with them.

My childhood hero is my uncle Franz who only recently passed away. As I was growing up, he would write to me practising English and I would reply practising my German. My uncle and I loved playing board games which made me feel special. A legacy of this special bond is a closeness with my cousins.

Just being able to help people in whatever little way I can is more than fulfilling enough, it’s the reason I chose to be a Medical Doctor in the first place.

I’m a bubbly person. I am friendly, talkative with others and I never struggle to see the bright side of life. I’m able to laugh raucously at jokes and have a good sense of humour too. Nelson Mandela is my hero because he engaged in selfless and dedicated acts, by fighting to bring liberty and justice for his people, and risking his life for the equality of all. He also showed that hatred cannot be overcome by hatred but by empathy.
Working with CSA has been such an amazing opportunity for gaining experience and building professional rapport with young people and colleagues. Most importantly what gives me fulfilment in my role is going the extra mile, even if it means going over my shift hours, to ensure my young people are safe and to reassure them I’m working in their best interest and ensuring their welfare.

Being part of CSA, what gives you fulfilment in your role?
The opportunity to deliver interventions to young people by being a good role model. One of my greatest achievements was helping a young person go back to school and complete year 6.

Playing soccer, watching movies and swimming.
I am an easygoing, friendly person who enjoys meeting new people. I enjoy sports and spending time with my loved ones. I enjoy getting to know new people and going out of my way to make them feel comfortable. I love what I do, especially the challenges that come with it. Working with CSA has also helped me build my self confidence and develop who I am as a person.
I would say my mom. She taught me my value as a young woman and reminded me of who I am. She has been an inspiration and a big shoe to fill throughout my whole life. Though she’s not a perfect mother, she’s the perfect mother for me.

I’m a very creative-orientated guy who enjoys the company of my family and friends. I use photography and videography as an outlet to express my appreciation for the gift of life! I am the person who loves to help others no matter if that is in the scope of my personal or professional life. I love working with people, which is why I started working within the community, almost 15 years ago, as different roles, e.g, teacher, mentor, counsellor, youth development worker, program worker and children and family support worker. In future, I look forward to working in the community sector in a higher position, I wouldn’t want to change my career path as I am very passionate about working within the community and with all the wonderful people who reside here.
My childhood hero was one of the presidents of Pakistan. His name was General Parwaiz Musharraf. He was very brave and always worked for creating equity for the nation and the country. He loved justice and worked a lot for social justice. He was not afraid of raising his voice against violence and injustice.
At CSA I can see that workers are being valued and their rights are respected. The support from the management team and the ongoing encouragement is also appreciated.

A time I felt accomplished with CSA was when I created a fitness plan used that was used as an outlet to aid with emotional and mental issues the young person was facing. Each shift I was on with him, I would run him through a program followed by a game of his choice. This aided in curbing his aggressive behaviours towards other clients and staff. And the rapport built with me enabled him to come to me with other issues that previously he wouldn’t have shared with anyone.
